Music Venues in Brighton

Music Venues in Brighton

Brighton is recognised throughout the UK for its eclectic music scene, and here at Singing Lessons Brighton we feel you should experience this beloved tradition as much as you can! Every year the city holds the great Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe, which inhabits nearly every pub and club, and extra attic space to boot, and involves creative minds from all walks of life keen to showcase their shared love of entertainment. The city has been a breeding ground for some of the most well-known and loved artists our generation (and those before us) have experienced, yet have all started out from the very bottom of the ladder. At Singing Lessons Brighton we believe in the most ambitious of dreams, and Brighton is the perfect place to begin your journey to stardom. It is home to more music venues, from small bars to giant stadiums - some that only exist for a special occasion (for example, Fatboy Slim's epic gig at the Amex Stadium) and some that have been around since time began - than is possible to confine to any list, but we hope to give you a helpful insight into what's on offer.

The Brighton Centre

The Brighton Centre can capacitate over 5,000 avid fans, and has done just that for the likes of Madness, Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks, The XX and Bryan Adams in the past. Recently refurbished, it is situated on the seafront within walking distance of hundreds of hotels and hostels, and hosts a packed schedule all year round. So if you're looking for your favourite up-and-coming or well-known band or singer, the Brighton Centre will surely satisfy your needs.

The Haunt

The Haunt, Brighton, errupted from the shadows of a disused cinema screening room in 2011, and doubles as a quirky nightclub and live music venue. It is situated almost directly opposite Brighton Pier at the coach station (tantalizingly close to some 24-hour fish and chip outlets might we add!), and is the perfect way to enjoy an intimate set from your favourite band, or check out a newcomer whilst dancing your night away. Since its opening, The Haunt has welcomed the likes of The XX, Foster The People, Young Knives and Los Campesinos, and for a budding artist like yourself the stage doesn't seem too far away. One of Brighton's newest venues, The Haunt produces some thunderous and memorable nights which are not to be missed... but be warned - things can get pretty steamy!

The Concorde 2

Welcome to Brighton's award winning and critically aclaimed premier music venue. Concorde 2 has stood since the 1800s, starting out its life as Victorian tea rooms, passing through stints as a Biker cafe and amusement arcade, before finally reaching its current glory as a live music venue in 2000. Here at Singing Lessons Brighton we practically worship the very foundations of this fine structure at Madeira Drive - just take a glance at its gig history to see what we mean! The building has hosted the White Stripes' first ever UK appearance, secret Bloc Party gigs, intimate adventures with the likes of Scissor Sisters and The Gossip before they went on to sell out many-thousand-seat arenas worldwide, plus Brighton's very own Kooks and Maccabees. For something truly special and probably historical check out this supurb venue - you won't regret it!

Brighton Dome

The Brighton Dome is a true classic - historic, beautiful and brimming with culture. Contained within the Pavillion buildings, the venue is in three areas: The Corn Exchange, the Concert Hall and the Pavillion Theatre. Edging onto the North Laines, the Dome has stood for over 200 years and has been the stable block for the Prince Regent, a temporary hospital, roller rink, and now presents more than 600 events every year as the Southeast's leading multi-arts venue, not forgetting its key involvement with the historic Brighton Festival. Recent acts have included Mumford and Sons, Public Enemy, Dizzee Rascal, Lily Allen, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Alesha Dixon and Kasabian, whilst less recent acts include Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. You can almost feel the vibe from many decades of legendary performers who have graced the stage here at the Brighton Dome, get down here and we'll see you on the front row!
